Parks & Recreation
The City of De Kalb is dedicated to maintaining safe, accessible, and clean outdoor spaces for our community. Our municipal parks offer playgrounds, walking trails, and athletic fields, operating in alignment with Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) outdoor conservation standards.
Park Directory & Hours
All city parks are open daily from dawn until dusk. Illuminated athletic fields remain open until 10:00 PM during scheduled events.
Youth Sports & Fields
De Kalb hosts seasonal baseball, softball, and soccer leagues. Field reservations require a completed application and liability waiver.
General Park Ordinances
To ensure a safe environment for all families, the following municipal codes are strictly enforced by the De Kalb Police Department:
- Alcohol Prohibition: The consumption or possession of alcoholic beverages is strictly prohibited in all city parks without a special event permit.
- Leash Law: All pets must remain on a leash no longer than 6 feet, and owners are required to clean up after their animals.
- Motorized Vehicles: ATVs, dirt bikes, and unauthorized motor vehicles are not permitted on walking trails or grassy areas.
- Glass Containers: Glass bottles and containers are banned to prevent injury on fields and playgrounds.
